St Antony’s College, in partnership with Jusoor and the Saïd Foundation, offers a scholarship for a student who is a Syrian citizen who is currently living in Syria or abroad, to study for a one year Master’s degree in the academic year 2021-22 at St Antony’s College in the University of Oxford. The scholarship will be for a value of up to a maximum of $50,000.
Jusoor is a NGO of Syrian expatriates supporting the country’s development and helping Syrian youth realize their potential through programs in the fields of education, career development, and global community engagement. As a community of Syrians living around the world working together to launch programs that benefit the Syrian community inside and outside Syria, it is committed to supporting the country’s development and drawing on the vast talents and experience of its global members to overcome the challenges the country faces.
The Saïd Foundation provides educational opportunities to talented young people and enhanced the capabilities of those working to relieve need and overcome disadvantage in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and the UK.
Am I eligible?
The scholarships are open to applicants who are Syrian nationals either currently in Syria or abroad.
Applicants must apply for admission to a full-time graduate course of study that is offered by St Antony’s College to start in 2021/22. St Antony’s College accepts students in a wide range of subjects in Social Sciences and Humanities Divisions. Our graduate courses page gives a list of the subjects we accept.

What does it cover?
The award is made for the full duration of a student’s fee liability for the agreed course and has a maximum value of $50k.
How do I apply?
In order to be considered for this scholarship, candidates must submit their application for graduate study to the University by the January deadlines (8th or 22nd January 2021 depending on the programme applied to – check the University’s guidance on application deadlines) and must have secured a place on their chosen programme of study by the completion deadline (2nd March 2021).
It is helpful if candidates select St Antony’s College in the ‘College choice’ section of the application form, though this is not compulsory. When applying, the applicant will need to tick the relevant box to be considered for a scholarship. If you fulfil the eligibility criteria and apply for your course by the relevant January deadline you will be automatically considered for the scholarship as part of the admissions process.
How will I know if I have been successful?
Following a meeting of the scholarship selection committee at St Antony’s College, all nominations are reviewed by Jusoor and the the Saïd Foundation. Successful candidates will be notified by the end of May 2021. Applicants who have not received the offer of an award by the end of May 2021 should assume that they have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
