A. About Service Unit
GIZ Türkiye has established a Service Unit (SU) to consolidate and strengthen all financial and administrative functions across its portfolio. The Service Unit serves as a center of excellence for commercial, administrative, and logistical services, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and compliance in project implementation.
The SU’s mission is to create and maintain optimal working conditions by harmonizing processes, enhancing service quality, and enabling technical teams to focus fully on their core mandates. It brings together the areas of financial management, procurement and contracting, management of financing arrangements, event and travel management, and administrative support under one coherent structure.
This strategic reorganization aims to professionalize services, promote digitalization, and establish consistent standards across all projects. The Service Unit works hand-in-hand with projects and the Country Office to deliver smooth, reliable, and high-quality services that directly support GIZ Türkiye’s goals of organizational effectiveness, accountability, and sustainable impact.
This position offers an opportunity to contribute to project delivery across Türkiye in a backbone role.
B. Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Inventory Management (documenting new inventory items in the system, documenting user and location of the item as well as labelling items) for the entire GIZ Türkiye country portfolio ensuring continuous accuracy of inventory items
- Disposal and/or clearing of inventory items for the entire GIZ Türkiye country portfolio
- Performing inventory reports on an annual basis for the service unit and the entire country portfolio
- Harmonizing inventory reports from all the projects in the Türkiye country portfolio and establishing a new inventory list for the service unit
- Ensuring eligibility of inventory items under third party fund regulations (such as EU and ECHO)

C. Required qualifications, competencies and experience
Education
- University degree (BA) in Business Administration, Management, or in a relevant field.
Professional experience
- At least 3 years of proven professional experience in Administration, Accounting, Controlling, Procurement of Goods/ Services or in similar tasks would be an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Outlook), and digital filing systems.
- Understanding of record management principles, inventory control, and audit readiness requirements would be an asset.
Personal Competencies
- Native in Turkish, business fluency in English is a must.
- Strong service orientation with a proactive, solution-focused, and efficiency-driven approach.
- Accountable and reliable, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all administrative processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills, capable of working in a multi-project, multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated resilience and adaptability in managing changing priorities and workloads.
- Takes ownership of assigned tasks and outcomes; proactively corrects errors.
- Willingness to enhance skills and/or upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures will be agreed upon with the management.
