Background
Sened, is an independent non-profit organization established and registered in Türkiye (under No: 27-15-175) in 2013.
- The name “Sened” in Arabic means “support” you could count on.
- Sened, was founded in response to The Syrian catastrophe, which led to critical situations and displacement of internally displaced people (IDPs) within Syria. The individuals who faced hardships due to factors such as repression, human rights abuses, and violence against civilians (including bombings, shelling, and sieges) and the urgent needs of millions of Syrian refugees in Türkiye. Later, our projects expanded to include support for the Turkish hosting community of the Syrian refugees. Our work spans across humanitarian sectors, with a special focus on advocating for the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities (PwDs) and their families.

Job purpose
The Media Assistant supports Sened’s communication, visibility, and outreach efforts by ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality production of media content across all platforms. The role contributes to strengthening Sened’s public image, donor visibility, and engagement with communities by assisting in content development, graphic design, social media management, and documentation of project activities.
Working closely with the program teams in Türkiye, the Media Assistant helps coordinate the creation, editing, and dissemination of multimedia materials; supports field teams in capturing stories, photos, and videos; and ensures that all communication products comply with donor visibility guidelines and Sened’s branding standards. The position plays a key role in improving internal communication workflows, meeting deadlines, and enhancing overall efficiency and quality within the Media & Communications Unit.
Duties, Objectives, Competencies
Assist in the development of multimedia content, including social media posts, photos, short videos, infographics, and promotional materials.Support field teams during activity implementations by capturing high-quality photos, videos, and human-interest stories.
- Edit and prepare content for publication in line with SENED’s branding and donor visibility guidelines.
- Coordinate with program teams to collect information, success stories.
- Assist in scheduling and publishing content across Sened’s social media platforms.
- Monitor engagement, audience feedback, and trends to support improved visibility and outreach.
- Help maintain Sened’s digital asset library (photos, videos, templates, design files).
- Support the design of simple communication materials such as banners, brochures, event visuals, and presentations.
- Ensure all communication materials follow Sened’s design templates, branding rules, and visibility requirements.
- Assist in coordinating with internal departments to gather information needed for media outputs.
- Support external communication with vendors, photographers, designers, or agencies when necessary.
- Provide logistical support to the Media Officer during events, campaigns, workshops, and community activities.
- Support documentation and archiving of media content and communication outputs.
- Assist in preparing reports, visibility packages, and documentation required by donors.
- Contribute to maintaining an organized workflow for media requests and deadlines.
- Strengthen Sened’s visibility and image through timely and professional multimedia content.
- Ensure consistent application of Sened and donor visibility guidelines across all communication materials.
- Improve internal communication and coordination between the Media Unit and program teams.
- Support increased engagement and reach across Sened’s social media and digital platforms.
- Contribute to documenting project impact through stories, visuals, and field content.
- Enhance the quality and efficiency of Sened’s communication deliverables through effective support, organization, and follow-up.

Essential Requirements
- University degree (or ongoing studies) in Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least 1,2 years of experience (including internships or volunteering) in media, content support, or design.
- Good knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and willingness to develop skills.
- Familiarity with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects) is an advantage.
- Experience in assisting with social media management (posting, scheduling, monitoring engagement).
- Good skills in journalism and content writing in English and Turkish (Arabic is an advantage).
- Basic knowledge of photography and videography.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to support multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with team members and external partners.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Commitment to ethical standards and professional confidentiality.
Desired Requirements
- Previous volunteering or internship experience with NGOs or international organizations.
- Interest or basic experience in creating media content that considers inclusivity and accessibility, especially related to persons with disabilities.
- Familiarity with digital campaign tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Google Ads) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge or interest in 3D design or motion graphics.
- Participation in organizing events, workshops, or media activities is a plus.
- Ability to connect with local media contacts (existing network is an advantage).
- Creativity and willingness to suggest new ideas for media activities and campaigns.
- Flexibility to travel and support field activities when required.
- Fluency in English
Technical Competencies:
- Proficiency in design and video editing software.
- Experience in photography and videography.
- Social media account management.
- Familiarity with accessibility principles (Accessibility basics).
